This summer’s theme is “Adventure Begins @ Your Library”! Join us for our annual Kick-off June 1st from 10-12 pm and sign up the whole family! This year’s challenge will be to read (or be read to) every day this summer. Registration prizes and light refreshment will be provided.

Family Book Walk

Get healthy with our new Family Book Walk! Every Saturday beginning June 15 from 10 am – 2 pm, enjoy a friendly stroll through our book walk, exercising both your mind and body out in the open air. Each point in the path displays the next page or two with additional information to consider and questions for discussion. A new book will be put up every two weeks! Up next: Hattie and the Fox by Mem Fox, illustrated by Patricia Mullins! (Make sure to pick up your fox craft at the circulation desk after you’ve finished walking the book!)

July 172:00 pmScience and Tech - Bluetooth SpeakerJoin us for an exciting Bluetooth Speaker Building Activity, where you'll construct your very own Bluetooth speaker from a kit. In this hands-on session, you'll learn about electronics and assembly techniques, guiding you through the entire process of building a functional speaker. Whether you're a tech enthusiast or just love music, this activity is a perfect way to combine both interests. By the end of the session, you'll have a fully operational Bluetooth speaker to take home and the knowledge to explore more DIY tech projects. Whether you're an aspiring chef or just love good food, this activity is a perfect way to learn about gardening and cooking. By the end of the session, you'll have created tasty dishes to enjoy and gained valuable skills in both gardening and culinary arts.
August 63:45 pmTeen D&D nightDue to popular demand, the library will be hosting D&D night on August 6, 3:45-5:45 pm. There will be six limited spots for beginner teens without their own D&D group (registration required). Teens with their own D&D groups are invited to come with their own campaigns.
Wednesdays5:00 pmCrafting - Yarn ClubJoin us for our weekly Yarn Club, where you can come knit or crochet in a fun and supportive environment. Whether you're a seasoned yarn enthusiast or a complete beginner, this club is perfect for everyone. Supplies are provided, so you only need to bring your creativity and enthusiasm. If you need one-on-one help, arrive 30 minutes early to get assistance from the experts at the Pocatello Knitter's Group. It's a great opportunity to learn new skills, make new friends, and create something beautiful with your hands. So, grab your yarn and needles, and join us for a cozy and creative time at Yarn Club!
Thursdays5:00 pmCreative Writing ClubGet ready to unleash your imagination at our Creative Writing Club, meeting twice a month, for an adventure in storytelling. In our first session of the month, dive deep into an intensive writing lesson where we'll explore specific writing skills, from the intricacies of worldbuilding to crafting suspenseful narratives. It's your chance to sharpen your writing prowess and add new tools to your literary toolbox. The other sessions are all about you! Bring your original pieces to share with the group for constructive feedback and encouragement. Whether you're a budding novelist, poet, or short story enthusiast, our club offers a supportive space for honing your craft and connecting with fellow writers. Adult Summer Camp 1 - Felt MushroomsThe library will host the ISU Craft Shop for a summer reading themed workshop. All of the supplies will be provided by the library. Registration is required at the link above for this program and will be open starting June 3rd. There are 15 spots available in two sessions, 10am-11:15am or 11:30am-12:45pm.

Adult Summer Camp 2 - Outdoor CookingWe have two presenters, Scott and Salome, who will be teaching us two different outdoor cooking techniques. Scott will run us through the ins and outs of basic Dutch oven cooking while Salome will do a demonstration of making bofrot (authentic Ghana party donuts) on an open fire. Registration is required and will open June 17th. We will get to eat what we make!

Adult Summer Camp 3 - Outdoor AdventuringClarence Close, a local experienced Master Naturalist will be talking to us about hiking trails in and around the Pocatello area. He will also cover how to stay safe on the trails as well as what we can do to keep these trails usable for future generations. Registration will open July 1st and will include a space for questions to ask our expert.

Adult Summer Camp 4 - Puzzle Race TournamentSign up with a team to compete in our first puzzle race tournament. We will have two sessions for participants to try and complete a 500-piece puzzle in an hour or less. Registration will open on July 15th. Winners will be able to keep the puzzle they complete.
