Summer Reading Registration Party

Come explore reading and the arts as we celebrate this summer’s theme, “Color Our World”! Summer reading officially begins June 2nd, and there will be a registration party June 7th from 2-4 pm. Sign up and receive a registration prize!

Track your reading with a log, available at the links below or when you sign up at the library. Adults can also track reading with the Beanstack app.

Family Book Walk

On June 14, July 12, and August 2 from 10 am – 2 pm, enjoy a friendly open-air stroll, exercising both mind and body on our Family Book Walk! Each stop on the path displays the next page or two with additional information to consider, an activity, or questions for discussion. First up: Dog’s Colorful Day by Emma Dodd!

The Natural World in TechnicolorEver notice a colorful wildflower and wished you knew its name? Ever wondered what makes Eastern Idaho’s ecosystem unique? Library specialist and amateur naturalist Megan Nelson will guide you through the basics of plant identification and wilderness foraging in this hour-long event. Come learn to appreciate wildflowers in a whole new way!

Flavor Our World Bread BreakingParticipants are invited to bake bread that is culturally significant to them. Make enough to share with a group and be prepared to share a little bit about why your bread matters. No registration required. We will meet outside the library under a canopy.

2nd Annual Puzzle TournamentSign up with a team to compete in our 2nd annual puzzle race tournament. We will have two hours for participants to try and complete a 500-piece puzzle. Registration will open on July 17th. Winners will keep the puzzle they complete and receive a medal for their efforts.

Visible Mending WorkshopLearn how to give your clothes a second life! Join us for a hands-on workshop where you'll learn simple mending techniques like patching and darning - as well as creative visible mending that turns repairs into art. Whether you want to fix a favorite shirt, your kids' jeans, or add personality to your own, this workshop will teach you how to repair with purpose and style. No sewing experience needed.

ISU Craft Shop - Framed Mosaics, Session 1Come to an engaging evening of creativity where participants will design and assemble their own unique framed mosaic artwork utilizing colorful glass pieces. All materials and tools will be provided. No prior experience is necessary. Space is limited and advance registration is required.
